LEAD

Thrive’s groundbreaking Leadership Experience And Development (LEAD) initiative prepares and empowers young adults to learn what it takes to become a leader and improve the world around them. Supported by our LEAD staff and mentors, young adults (ages 17-25) gain the knowledge, practical skills, and confidence to become leaders in their communities.

Following an application and selection process, LEADers meet weekly, from October through June, with a diverse group of mentors from the community. Their months of learning culminate with a number of community service projects which the LEADers and their mentors plan and complete. These projects enable the LEADers to put into practice the skills they have honed over the year. LEAD is an extension of Thrive’s commitment to focus on abilities and provide opportunities to shine.
Future LEADers
- Acquire expertise in a dynamic set of leadership skills through curriculum-based learning
- Gain knowledge from mentors in the community who share their professional experience on leadership
- Explore and research community service projects in their community
- Demonstrate leadership skills by implementing three community service projects
